<trans-abstract xml:lang="en"><p>Currently one of the main methods of treatment of patients with ureteral stones is contact ureterolithotripsy (CULT). Despite the high effectiveness of the method, the problem of early detection and prevention of exacerbation of inflammatory complications of nephrolithiasis remains urgent. To improve the diagnosis of pyelonephritis after CULT in patients with urolithiasis, a study of the diagnostic efficacy of neutrophil gelatinase-associated lipocalin (NGAL), cystatin C, ß2-microglobulin, and interleukin-18 was performed in 123 patients with ureteral stones. The greatest value in preoperative diagnostics of pyelonephritis was demonstrated for serum NGAL of blood, urine NGAL, and urine ß2-microglobulin. The most significant increase during early term (2 hours) after CULT was observed for urine ß2-microglobulin and IL-18. The concentration of urine NGAL among all the studied markers remained elevated for a relatively longer period.</p></trans-abstract><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>Мочекаменная болезнь</kwd><kwd>контактная уретеролитотрипсия</kwd><kwd>пиелонефрит</kwd><kwd>маркеры повреждения почек</kwd><kwd>Urolithiasis</kwd><kwd>contact ureterolithotrypsy</kwd><kwd>pyelonephritis</kwd><kwd>markers of kidney damage</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><title>References</title><ref id="cit1"><label>1</label><citation-alternatives><mixed-citation xml:lang="ru">W.Y.
