Assessment of the quality of life of patients with complete removable dentures in periodontal surgery preprosthetic stage of preparation of the oral cavity

Abstract

Aim. To evaluate the quality of life of patients who use removable dentures after conducted parodontal surgery on preprosthetic stage of preparation. Methods. A clinical examination and periodontal surgical treatment were conducted, and assessment of quality of life 67 patients aged 65 to 80 years, who formerly held the prosthetics full removable dentures, but people who use them for reasons of difficult chewing of food in connection with the pain under the denture, balancing of the denture while talking and eating, the presence of growths on the mucous membrane under the prosthesis, but also discomfort and lack of habituation to the prosthesis and participated, was also conducted. Results. According to OHIP-14 survey for evaluation of quality of living of parodontal patients, who use fully removable dentures, was conducted three times: before the treatment, after conducted parodontal surgery and after the ending of repeated prosthetics to fully removable prostheses after 6 months. Conclusion. According to the conducted research: survey for patients in oral form and clinical assessment - it was established that on the stage of preparation before orthopedic rehabilitation by fully removable constructions, the parodontal treatment is neglected, the elimination mucogingival pathology in particular, that leads to the inability to use removable dentures in everyday life.
