Indications of electromyographic studies of chewing muscles in patients with bilateral arthrosis of the temporomandibular joint
Abstract
Diseases of the temporomandibular joint (TMJ) are one of the most common pathologies of the maxillofacial region both in Russia: up to 87%, and abroad up to 75%. We set a goal: to study the bioelectric potential of the actual chewing and temporal muscles with each chewing motion in patients with bilateral osteoarthritis of the temporomandibular joint with various functional tests. To assess the symmetry of the masticatory muscles, to analyze the ratio of the chewing time to the resting time (coefficient K), to compare the results with the norms of the norm.
